May 2014
Hi, I started  this after everyone, except Michael and Cindy were home ..  Life got in the way and I didn’t finish and get it sent.  Now I will try again.
Dear Family,
What a cherished and emotional weekend.  Thanks to all of you for being here and for Michael and Cindy being here in their thoughts and on the phone for a while.
A few months before Daddy passed away, I was sitting with him while Mom went to a permanent.  He had two big concerns.  One was of course how Mom would do with out him.  She had never written out a tithing check.  I promised him we would take care of here and help her with the tithing.  I want you to know that we wrote out her last tithing check after she passed away and she is a full tithe payer.  But mostly I promised we would take care of her.  In my heart, I feel we did.  There were times when we all got tired and upset with the situation, but NEVER did we say anything to Mom to make her feel we were upset with her.  Up to that last week, I think she felt comfortable and safe in our care.   Thanks to everyone again for all you did physically and in your prayers to help her thorough those years.
Dad’s 2nd concern was how we would divide up the STUFF.  I’ve told you before, but I again promised him that if there was any trouble, I’d send it all to the DI.  I can’t help but think that Dad and Mom were so pleased this weekend as they saw everyone working together, laughing, sharing stories and enjoying being together and to my knowledge, not one word of contention.  Thank you.  I also think that they are in a place where they understood that we couldn’t keep everything.   I Hope.
It was hard having you all leave and knowing that home would never be the same, but what a blessing is ours to have been raised a home where we were loved, taught the gospel, taught how to work and value work.  We saw honesty and caring for ones neighbors.  We had the blessing of extended family and sharing time together.  WE saw by example the way to live.  There are so many great stores and examples .  I hope we will all occasionally read through Mom and Dad's story and share it with our grandchildren. Lars’ family is reading the book at nights and he says the kids are really enjoying it.  Nothing came easy for our parents, but they never gave up, they just kept trudging along and made life great for us while they were doing it.  I guess I was really dumb, but I didn’t know we were poor and I had some friends, as all of you did, that had money.  I don’t remember being told we couldn’t afford it, only that I didn’t need it.  Gale wishes I would remember that lesson now.  The Christmas after Mom had her lung out, she was back in the hospital and worried about Christmas. She gave me a list and the credit card and I went shopping.  I will never forget the look on Daddy’s face when I handed him that bill.  He was worn out with worry about Mom, from work, taking care of the family and then I handed him that bill.  It broke my heart.  On that last hospital stay, as Rae Ann and I were making our trips to the hospital and back, I made a comment in anger and frustration.  I said that the people who write those beautiful stories about the blessings of caring for someone, must wait about 10 years so they can forget all the hard stuff.  Well, when Mom passed I found that it didn’t even take 10 seconds to be grateful for every opportunity and regret those not taken.  I still check out the cookie isle in the store and look at the pretty flowers to take a plant to Mom.  I occasionally have a feeling that I need to call and check on her and let her know what we are doing.  During the Stock Show, it was so strong, that I began to wonder what she was trying to tell me, but now I’ve relaxed and feel that she was just watching over me as she and Dad are watching over us all.  Once a parent, always a parent.
I need to thank all of you for your prayers, you kind thoughts and just caring.  I’m doing well. One more Chemo. Yea!!!!  We have seen many blessings through this.  Another thing that I have quoted so often from Mom, “No great loss without some small gain” and that is the case here. Not what we would have chosen, but there are blessings.  Out kids have ben fantastic, from freezer meals to keep Gale on his low-salt diet, to being with us at Dr visits and chemo days, plenty of fancy head-gear, cleaning the house, lots of smoothies and anything they thought might taste good, a bedroom wall covered each treatment with kind thoughts and encouragement, many, many kinds thought, taking care of me at the stock-show, so all I had to do was sit, to many, many hugs, some from afar and some up close.   They still invite me to come to things, no one seems embarrassed that I don’t have any hair and what surprises me is that I don’t care about the hair.  I can be showered and ready to go in 10 minutes.  I may reconsider this hair thing.
Everyone is busy with end of school activities, and all that goes with that.  We have two graduates from High School, Jacob, who has his Mission call to Knoxville Tennessee and Chancie who is planning on a year at Dixie and then a mission.  Mikala graduated from SUU with her , I think, Bachelors degree, one degree after nursing school and Shelby has her associates from Dixie and will be retuning next year.  Nicholas and Whitney are on the count-down to get moved to St. Gorge and get settled down after 10 years of medical school.  Lars and Juilanna are busy keeping up with busy kids and Leah's broken wrist.  That messed up volleyball and softball.  The Peacocks and Johnsons are glad to have the Stock-show over.  Our kids all did well, judges don’t always agree but we know what could have happened.  Mishawns steer hated men.  When the judge told her that her steer was hard to handle, Milton said she should have said “Here let your husband take it.”  then they would have seen a real rodeo.  The lambs looked good, Chancie did and great job and little Misty hung on and that was not easy thing to do.  It was a funny year and everyone felt they worked with their animals as much as they could.  Gale is happy to report that his new mule is here, a little gennie, so now we have one of each.  It’s also time to start moving cows again.  Gale and Milton with the help of Brandt, Mikala, Vicotira and Zach have been building fence.  We want our neighbors to the south to realize we mean it when we say “we aren’t going anywhere, enjoy the smells!”  The city has been fixing the roads in front of the farm, so when you go down that way you may miss us.  It’s going to be a main thoroughfare, big wide road.  St. George is a changin’  It’s fun to get Taylor’s letters each week. I impressed with the people in Idaho and how they support the missionaries. John lost his father this spring.  Such a great man.  Our thoughts are with John, Tammy and family and with his mother, Laurel. A great family.   Shelby is home for the summer and hopefully things will slow down a bit at the Hulet house when school is out. At the Curtis Larsen house, it’s about getting Jacob ready for his mission while Kristen and Zach are preparing for the marathon. Shelby is also going to run the marathon.  Scott stays busy with his own business, which is good, when he’s not working for the fire Dept, just makes it hard to get done the  things around the house they would like to do.  Galyla was hoping for a slow down when school let out, but doesn't seem to be happening.  She is in Young women’s and there is never a slow time in young Women’s.
Guess that’s what is going on with us.  Just know that we pray for all of you and send our love.  I’m so grateful for family and truly we are blessed.  As Gale and I work at our new calling at the Meadows, assisted living  home, we realize just how blessed we are to have family.  So many people don’t.  I’m still trying to work on Mom’s life for the last five years and would like to hear from you, ANYTHING, I don’t want it just from my perspective, which right now gets a little crazy at times.  Gale isn’t sure about my sanity.  Not really, I’m OK..
Love to all of you, the Larsen clan

March 2014
Dear Family,
The Peacocks and Johnson's are busy with their show animals.  Been a year when there just hasn’t been time to do much with them, so they are working hard to get caught up.  Last week, being spring break was a chance to work hard.  Misty and Chancie had someone coming to shear their lambs.  It turned into a pit of a circus.  One lamb took off, Gayla and family happened to be there also so there was a whole bunch of kids on that hill trying to corner the lamb, who, by the way didn’t want corned.  He’d had enough.  They finally did get him over by the mules pen and the mule was going crazy.  It was quite a sight. The Peacocks have a steer that took three of them down including Gale, head first in the gold dust. Good thing he likes that stuff.  But now they are surprised how good it is.  Shakell has an interesting steer this year.  When he gets tired, he just lays down, no matter what you are doing with him.  Trevor and Jaxton love to spend their time on the hill making houses for the ladybugs.
We have a new mule due in May, so Gale is getting excited about that.  Lots of homes being built around the farm.  Could get interesting.
Curtis /Kristen and family and Milton/Natalie and family were in Disneyland for spring break.  Sounds like they have had a great time.  Curtis’ bunch went over to play on the beach with Whitney and kids and to church with them today before heading home.  They didn’t play n the beach today, Friday.   Sometimes I don’t tell it right.
Lars/Julianna and family have spring break next week so they have gone to the family cabin on Pine top  Lars and Luke will just stay the week end because Luke's college doesn’t have spring break this week and Lars will go home to work.  sounds like they had a fun ski trip on Saturday.  Luke said he would do a run for me.
Nicholas was in New Orleans’ this week for an annual conference.  He said it was really a different place.  He was glad it wasn’t Marti Gras season.  Whitney is a good sport to keep up with the kids hat home.
The Hulets don’t get spring break, so we don’t bring it up.  We are loving Taylors letters.  He’s been in Idaho for a month and hasn’t had a famous Idaho Potato.  He loves potato's.   Tammy and Krystal were here yesterday to watch Shelby run in a 10k,  I think it was.  she loves to run and is planning on doing the marathon this year.  I think she, Kristen, Zach and Nicholas are planning to run, but she is the only one practicing so far.  The others will get caught up.
Gale and I are trying to keep up with the his new calling at the Meadows.  Definitely different.  My calling is visiting and home teaching.

Hopefully we can meet at Mom’s on March 28 and 29.  Let me know.  We need to talk about some things and make a few decisions.  I’ll try to give you a call, but you can call me if you want.
Love to you all  the Larsen Group.

February 2014
Dear Family,
Wow, things change in a hurry as I look back.  Even after the first visit to the emergency room while Jeanie was here and then the stay in the hospital while Rae Ann was here, and bringing Mom home on hospice, I didn’t see it coming.  She seemed to be getting better and I told Bob, the hospice nurse, that we would have her off hospice by Christmas.  He told me to wait until after the holidays then they would re-evaluate her.  I’m grateful that she was here through the holidays.  Thanksgiving night at her house was a choice memory, so many of us being there together in her big front room, sharing memories and the spirit that was there of family.  I’m grateful that Lars and Nicholas and families were here for Thanksgiving, had the opportunity to visit with Mom and be at her house Thanksgiving night with so many cousins that they haven’t seen for a long time.  Thanksgiving Day was different, but I think we have a new tradition.  the little kids loved Chuck-O-Rams and I loved not cooking and doing the dishes.  I’m grateful to Jerry and Gerri for having a ‘traditional’ Thanksgiving and having Mom at their house.   As I look back, Jerry and I never really panicked about not having a place to eat Thanksgiving.  And that's just not me, not to panic.  I had a great reason to panic and I didn’t use it.
Mom loved her little Christmas tree.  She was so excited when I plugged it in and after she moved over our our house, she worried about not having her outside lights on.  She really appreciated Jerry putting them up.  She was here for the Nativity program, for Christmas Eve dinner, on Christmas she went with us to Kristen and Curtis’ and Terol and Jeffs’, but at Gayla’s, she just sat in the car while we ran in.  Kason went out to visit with her and she told him to tell us it was time to go, and we did.  Milton and Natalie came by the house, as did Jerry and Gerri. I think she had a good day.  She enjoyed the gifts, cards and calls, even though she couldn’t hear and we told her you had called.  New Years’ Eve, Gerri, Amber and Jayln came by in the afternoon and had a good visit with her.  Tammy and her crew were here, waiting for Zach and taking down our Christmas lights, so they had a visit with mom.  That night, we were excited about Zach getting home, then his flight got changed because of a delay and Kristen and Curtis went to Vegas to pick him up, making it later when he got home.  Pauline and Milton sat with Mom while we ran over the the Larsen’s to greet him on the lawn about 10 p.m.  Then we came back, played games and ate junk.  Mom sat at the table smiling and watching us play.  She said she didn’t want to play, just watch.  She enjoyed all the treats, also.  She did give up and go to bed before Zach came over at 11:30.  but she seemed to have a good day and all was well until about 5 a.m. New Year’s Day.  Terol and Gayla both expressed how nice it was she was with us for the holidays.  We have good memories and won’t have bad memories this year as the holidays come around again.
It was a busy and stressful times through Oct and Nov.  Brandt was sick, which isn’t uncommon in Paraguay.  But he just didn’t get better.  He was having trouble with his eyes, losing lots of weight, trying to figure out what was going on.  We were all very concerned.  As most of you know, it was discovered that he had type 1 Diabetes and was in serous condition by the time it they found out what it was and not just the bug that everyone gets down there.  We are grateful to have him home safe and trying to get his new life style under control.  Taylor went to the temple in December, preparing for his mission.  He leaves on Feb 5th, for Nampa, Idaho.  His friend goes the same day to Arizona.  Taylor prefers the cold to the hot.  It’s been fun to attend the temple with him a few times.  Last week, all four of our missionaries, Coby, Zach, Brandt and Taylor went to the Temple together and of course, Grandma had to be there.
I am grateful for the blessings of the Gospel, for the all times, through the last few months and years, that Heavenly Father was there to get us through.  I love the poem, “Footsteps”.  There were times that I am sure He was carrying me.  I am grateful for the health He blessed me and the rest of you with as we cared for Moma.  One night I was so tried and Mom was getting up every hour.  At one point, I just prayed, “Heavenly Father, please just give me three hours sleep and then I can make it. “ The next time she called, it had been three hours.  I know He hears and He cares about us.  I’m grateful Moma could go so fast after she couldn’t get up anymore.  She hated being in bed.  She NEVER laid down in the daytime and wasn't so sure that’s where she wanted to be in the night.  Always needed to be busy.  I hope some of her ambition rubs off on me.
The Sunday of Mom’s viewing, we got a call from the Stake Presidents office to see if we could come in.  Told them we were pretty busy that night so we went in the following Wednesday.  What I feared was what we were asked to do, go to one of the care centers.  I was so emotional and just felt I couldn’t do that.  But after thinking about it, we called and said “yes.”  It is a branch in our stake, an assisted living facility.  Gale is 2nd coun in the branch presidency.  Our memberships get sent there, so I will get some kind of call.  Maybe I can be more objective and do for these sisters what I didn’t do for mom.  A second chance.  Gale was set apart today.  I think it will be good for us to work together.  Just got to thinking though, another 3 years of sitting by myself.  But it’s nice to know that the Lord still needs us at our age.
Had some stories about driving with Moma and Daddy, but I’ve gone on too long.  Maybe next time.
So grateful for Moma and Daddy and for each of you.  It was great having so many of you here for Mom’s services.  What a tribute to her.  There is nothing that would have pleased her more.  I hope the reunion can take on even more importance now that we won’t be having Thanksgiving together.  We will need that time together to stay in touch and honor Mom and Dad.
We send out love and best wishes to each of you,
the Larsen, Larsen, Hulet, Johnson, Larsen, Larsen;, Peacock, Larsen clan

October 2013
Dear family,
this will be a short one, I promise.  Our big news this month is Taylor got his mission call to Nampa, Idaho.  He leaves February 5.  We are happy for him.  Tammy and John are starting to get the lists made and the shopping done.  A fun, exciting time for the family, but also an emotional time.  We all know that feeling.  We are proud of Taylor and his decision to go on a mission.
Promised it would be short...
We send our love and hope to see some of you at Thanksgiving, we will miss those not here but hope everyone has a great time with family around them.
                                                                                The Larsen Crew.

September 2013
Dear Family,
Conference left no doubt about where the Church stands on many issues.  We need to be strong and stand for what’s right.  Sometimes its just easier to ignore it but I know we must stand strong.
Lets see, what’s been going on.  I’ve been trying to get pictures in books and again, the newsletters are helping me with what happened when.  It’s really easy to get years confused, they pass so quickly.  I was so involved in working on the books that I forgot to check my neighbor’s irrigation water and we watered the Condo’s below us.  Not Good!  Last week as I was checking the ditches, the sister missionaries came by.  They were interested in what I was doing.  They had never seen someone irrigating before.  Cute girls.  Then I gave them over to the University.   They work with the singles wards there.
Milton, Natalie and girls spent the weekend up at the cabin on Kolob.  It snowed on them briefly, but was cold all the time.  They were able to listen to conference at the cabin and do a little looking around.
Tammy. John and family also went to their cabin for Saturday, but came home Saturdaynight.  Tammy says it sure seems strange not to have anyone in the Elementary this year.  But she is keeping busy anyway.  Terol and Jeff are in Connecticut to visit Kera, Clint and Oreo.  The pictures Jeff is sending home of the autumn leaves are really beautiful.  Coby was able to go to his missionary reunion and spend time with some friends.  Kristen ran the Marathon yesterday.  We are so proud of her.  She has worked really hard getting ready.  Hopefully she can rest now.  Lars and some school friends went scuba diving, he took home some crab for the family.  Juilanna said it was interesting to watch it cook.  Upset some of the kids.  Next week Julianna is headed to California for Fall Break, then home for a few days before she is off to New York.  Nicholas and Whitney have found California quite different from Tennessee, a lot more expensive.  The kids don’t get a fall break from school, but they are out nearly a month at Christmas time...they have Christmas break and then Hanukkah.  Gayla has a new calling as a counselor in the Young Women's. She traded in, or was released from, her other three callings to make room for this one.  Jaxton has figured out it’s a good deal.  He gets to go to Yogurt Land if his is good at the Presidency meetings.  Gayla, Mishawn, Kason and Shakell went to the farm to pick out their steers for the Livestock show.  No decisions yet, but it’s time to start working on that again.
Gale weaned the mule last week and he still is crying for his Mom. I can’t imagine what the neighbors think when they hear that mule making the noise he makes.  Pretty sad.  He and Milton are bringing in the mother cows from Barkley Nevada this Tuesday, but the calves have stopped crying so that should be okay.  On Saturday, the cows will go out to Quail.  Curtis and boys will hike the trail to keep the cows going.  They are good sports, that trail is straight up for a long way.  We are so grateful for the rain that came and put water in the pond and hopefully helped the feed to grow.  On Wednesday, before they take them out, I get to trim the hair in their ears again.  I’m really important.
I got a call last week that our Cousin, Nellie Mae Goodwin Christensen had passed away.  Such a shock.  The family lived across the street from us in the Rock House, when we were young.  When they moved to Farmington New Mexico I really hated to see them go.  We were good friends.  I kept trying to figure out a way to go to the funeral, then Valeen Nelson Empey, in our ward, and another cousin passed away also and her funeral is the same day.  My calling is to do the funeral luncheons, so I’ll be here.  Gale and I are also her Home and Visiting Teachers.  Her passing was more expected.  I know, but keep forgetting, that we need to make the most of everyday.  No one knows what tomorrow will bring.
I’m so grateful for the family we were born into, for the example Mom and Dad have always been to us.
“we look forward to Monday's because that’s our missionary letter days.  Grateful to Zack and Brandt for their willingness to serve.”
Just know that we love you all.

August 2013
Dear Family,
After emailing back and forth with Rinda about the newsletter and her comment that she didn’t know if anyone was interested anymore, I told her I dared to ask.  That’s when you all (The 8) got the text asking about your feelings of continuing the news letter or has it run it’s course.  No one should feel the stress of having to write and especially the stress of trying to get it out when there aren’t many letters.  We’ve all had our turns of being in charge and know how stressful it can be when you only have a couple of letters and the deadline has passed.   I always felt it was my fault when I didn’t get many letters and wondered how I could do better.  (I know Evonne, I’m not important enough for it to be my fault, but I felt that way anyhow.) The results of my text to all of you was split, with some saying it’s okay to quit, others saying they would like to keep  the newsletter, but will go along with what ever is decided. The reason given to keep it is so our family, at lest the eight of us can stay in touch and not drift apart. Just had some more answers, giving us more votes to keep that to quit.  I guess if we have a deadline and if only 2 or 3 write, copy and send it.  As I’ve said before, NO ONE SHOULD FEEL COMPELLED TO WRITE– this is voluntary.  Each of you feel free to express your feelings about the newsletter.
I loved the blog last year, but Rinda is like I am, afraid of doing it.  I told her that next year would be my turn and it would go back to paper, because I just am not computer literate and I have access to a copier so I can do it at midnight if I want too.  But I would only send to the 8 and they would make copies for their family members who wanted it.
One thing I’m finding is that we don’t really use e-mail to communicate, it’s more texts, and I love texting.  It is fast and easy.  But it doesn’t leave us with permanent records.  I have been using past newsletters to help me as I try to put scrapbooks together.  I’ve been surprised by some of the things I wrote that sounded so stupid, that were fun to read and helped me with information I had  forgotten.  I’ve also used them in putting together some history.  As I put together books for our kids in 2010, I pulled out all of our family letters, but found other letters that I felt were important for them to have of other family members.  It took all year, but by Christmas of that year I had them done. It was a great experience for me and the kids and grandkids seemed to enjoy them.   It’s been a valuable resource..  But nothing lasts forever .
(As I have tried to put together histories of our grandparents, what I would give for some written records. We have some on both Grandma’s but very little on the Grandpa’s)
After you see my long letter, you will tell me only to write every three months.  This is for my history, so it is long....
Now, for our family stuff---we are loving the rain.  Just talked to Uncle Bennie last night and he said they have had 22 days of rain and hoping for more.   The storms kept missing our house, but this last week we’ve been getting wet and loving every minute of it.  Gayla would say how they were getting soaked and we just had the clouds.  One of the best parts of it all is the cool weather.  So glad to be out of the 100's It’s been a long, very HOT summer.  Yesterday set a record for the coolest high by this date in St George history, 77 I think and I loved every minute of it.
This weekend is the Lion’s Dixie Roundup.  Each year they honor Lion’s who have died during the year, by having a horse with no rider led in and giving the history of that person.. This year Mikala will lead in the horse honoring her grandfather.  It’s always a very emotional, by this year it will be even more.   Brandt flew out of St. George on July 17,  and after a couple of stops entered the mission home in Argentina, After 6 weeks, he went to Paraguay, met the mission and president, then took an eight hour bus trip to his area.  He is close to the border of Brazil.  Milton, Natalie and the girls had another fun trip to Hawaii.  We got to keep Diggy and Mas.  Sure is lonely when the little dogs go home.  This morning as I was getting dressed I kept looking for Diggy so I wouldn’t step on him.  He is usually right under your feet.
Shelby is back to Dixie State University–Wow- that sounds different.  Taylor is going to school at SUU in the trade part to become a plumber.  He is working on getting his mission papers in. He’s done the hard part, wisdom teeth are gone, Yea!  He got along really good.  Taylor had a bow and arrow Elk tag.  He got it the first weekend.  They have some more hunts coming up.   Sydney, Hunter and Larsen are all running cross-country this year.  I love going to the meets.  It was fun to have Shelby and her room mate Anna drop by last night.  They were out for a run and stopped for a rest.  Krystal is in middle school this year and playing the saxophone.  She loves that saxophone.   I don’t know how the elementary is keeping going without Tammy down there everyday helping out.  She was there so much they offered her a job, but she told them she just wanted to volunteer. Tammy is the PTA present at the Middle School this year.  John is keeping busy with work, which is a good thing, and trying to get in as many hunts as possible.
Coby is happy to be back in school, I think.  He worked two jobs to stay busy after he got home from his mission in January and make a little money.  He will continue to do his job for the school district. It’s a part-time job keeping the computers going in some of the schools. He loves the work.  He was able to buy a car.  That was fun for him.  He is also in the Elder’s Quorum Presidency in his college ward.  Jeff is the Elder’s Quorum president in the home ward.  Fun to have a job in common.  Jeff has been really busy at work.  The BLVD Furniture has been doing some remodeling and Jeff has been in charge of that, along with his other responsibilities at the store.  Chanice is doing cross-country again and being active in the drama department.  Keely is on the yearbook staff.  She takes a lot of pictures.  She also doing some sewing and coming up with pattern ideas of her own.  Misty loves life, dancing, being in the high-school play of “the King and I” and being in a new school. She is in the intermediate school, so Terol is at the elementary school by herself for the first time.  But she loves her work. She was called to the nursery and thinks she has the best job ever.  Kera and Clint are still busy with school and happy that Clint still has his job.  Some layoffs going on back there.
Curtis really scheduled himself heavy at school this semester.  Part of it is doing some activities for younger kids to come to a computer lab and teach them programing once a week.  Caleb, McCade and Kason are part of his group.  Kristen is getting ready for the St. George marathon the first weekend in Oct.  She is working hard at getting ready.  She will be happy when it’s over. She has done a couple of 20 mile runs.  She hopes that last 6 miles don’t get her.  She will make it..  Katelyn, Thomas and Savannah are playing soccer.  With Savannah in first grade, Keriten isn’t quite sure what to do with herslf.  First time to be home a lone for a long time.  Jacob is a senior at Dixie High.  He and Caleb, along with Kee ly, all worked at the college this summer in the food service at the University.  One big event at he Larsen house.  Thomas got a dog, Duke>  He is a border collie and something else.  A pretty dog.
Julianna said she a letter in for their family.  We enjoyed having her and the kids here for a few days this summer. Then they left Ada and Avie while they went to Lake Powell.  I met Lars in Fredonia to get them home.   It was so much fun having those two little girls.  They were so good and slept through the night.  That’s all I ask for, to sleep through the night.  Wish I would sleep through the night.  I’m trying to put together a trip to Mesa to watch all the kids play ball and visit.
Gayla has watched the rain so carefully to make sure it didn’t get into the window wells and flood the basement.  Scott told her he had it fixed.  But we have to worry about something, right?  Tuesday night, Mishawn said “Hey guys, water is coming through the light fixture into the basement.”  After a quick search, they found the upstairs toilet hadn’t shut of and was running water down the hall, through the floor into the basement and into two bedrooms upstairs.  They grabbed towels, blankets and whatever and started soaking up water.  They were worried about the hard wood floor and sheet rock.  After all the rain it was an inside job.  How ironic.  With all the humidity, its hard to get dried out.  But they are starting to get part of the house back to normal and the hard wood looks like its going to be okay.  Mishawn is enjoying being on the school drill team.  Kason is practicing hard for the Robotics competition.  He and McCade are on the  team and I’m not sure who else, it keeps changing.  Gayla laughs because she is supposed to be the leader, that means she  brings the cookies, Curtis is really in charge, I think.  Shakell is happy to be back to dancing and gymnastics, Trevor is busy in a new school this year and Jaxton started per-school.  .After his first day, he said,”That was weird, but not as bad as Church.”  He really enjoys going though.
Don’t know if any of you followed Gayla details of the trip to get Nicholas and Whitney moved or not.  She put their adventures on Facebook.   They left Memphis Friday afternoon, and arrived in LA on Sunday Night.  She, Curtis and Lars flew out to help with the move.  She and Whitney drove the van with the kids and the dog, while the three guys drove the U-Haul..  I think they finally let Nicholas have a turn driving.  By Sunday night they were partly unloaded.  Tuesday morning, Lars flew home to Mesa, Galya and Curtis drove the U-Haul to St George with the stuff to be stored.  Then Nicholas and Whitney came up and spent a week.  It was great to have then here.  Has been a while.  Nicholas text last week to say he passed his boards.  What a relief.   He had so much going on, trying to study and get packed and ready to move and get the house sold, that I think he was worried that he wouldn’t pass and that made me nervous.  Lexi and Tucker are in school andloving it, Daisy goes to pre school and Whitney and Brody hang out.  Nicholas is busier than he thought he would be, but that is good.
I really enjoy visiting with Jeanie, Rae Ann, and Nancy when you come to spend time with Mom  It was fun to have Evonne here for a while.  We know it wasn’t easy for her.  Thanks to Burton and Angela for taking care of Charlene for her.
Gale and I are so grateful for our family.  We love our time together and hearing from them  We are blessed to have most of them very close.  And even at that we don’‘t keep up on what they are doing.  Milton and Gale are going out to wean the calves and bring them home next week, so they can pick the ones to save for the stock shows and which ones to cell, and Milton can’t wait to get that bull to the sale.  He is not coming home!  Just the last couple of months has he been able to sleep on that side and breathe deeply.
We send our love, Family is what it’s all about and  keeping close is important
