Dear Family,
I guess everyone knows how hot it is. St. George is very hot! to hot for comfort. It was good to be with mom again.
Came home and Dustin and Amy had left the heat and went camping in Manti, and then took their kids to the pageant on Fri.They came through on Saturday. When they got home their ac had gone out in their house. Way, hot. but got it going soon.
What would we do without ac? I thought down there, how did the pioneers even stay here. You can't survive without ac even in your car now days. But I do remember those days we had all four windows down and the hot wind would blow through the car......
In talking to Ryan in Texas, I believe we are hotter than they are. So that's not right. Ryan and Kim have a new house, it finally all came together, in Melissa Texas. A nice new little town, with their own new chapel across the street from them. And a big yard for the kids and the dog who's not a puppy any more.
Tyler was released from scout master after 7 years. And I don't think he's missing it too much, especially with the camps in the heat. He is over round table though now. He and CJ and Kristi and DeniAnn and Dennis play on a co-ed softball city team. They have quite the time and fun.I babysit of course. But I love that. It's good to have fun once in a while.
Dennis did the ATV jamboree while I was in St. George. He loves being a guide. But it was so hot on the rides each day. Some days he was riding for 7 to 8 hours in the sun. He got fried. But loves doing this.
He also has grown a beautiful garden again this year.
We are now preparing for the 4th of July. Our kids love this, our grand kids. We made a batch of home made rootbeer yesterday. We found pop bottles off a ksl.com and a bottle capper at an antique store and then we order bottle caps off the internet.This seems to be tradition at our house, and grandpa Dennis loves to do it. Course we all love to drink it too.
Krisiti is doing wedding cakes. She had the test of a life time a couple of weeks ago. Someone called her and needed her help. They had a wedding cake they were bringing down from up north and it had completely melted and collapsed on one side. They asked her if she could fix it. Well, it wasn't fixable, so she had five hours to make a complete 3 tier wedding cake. It was like those baking competitions on tv, where you have so much time. Dennis was great on telling us how much time we had left. But she did it with really no minutes to spare. The wedding was out on a farm and Dennis helped her drive it out there. When she placed it on the table the mom cried, she was so happy. It really turned out beautiful. Not sure she would want to do one that fast again.
DeniAnn is working at the salon. The owner is moving to Vegas and wants DeniAnn to run her shop for her. So that will be a good opportunity for her. She stays so busy with work and being an EMT.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Reunion.
